STEEL BEACH muse

The meeting for STEEL BEACH will be held on March 10th.

This is my third pass through the book, and so there are few surprises. I did find the first reference to the "morning breath" problem, which I had negelected to note previously and could never locate. I am at about the half-way mark and am struggling to find ways to describe my experience. This is the top rated book on my personal list, and on the Varley Vade mecum site as well. It is so smooth, so fluent, it is like a direct interface into my brain. It has been ten years since my last read, and yet it plugs right in like I had read it last year. One of the truely great ones.

I have suggested that we select the cream of the crop and re-read them on the ten year anniversary of the last reading. I would like to tackle THE BOOK OF THE NEW SUN again. I just checked the HMTP and discovered, to my chagrin, that we last read it in Spring, 1994. (tempus fugit)

Day Break Episodes Online

ABC has finally posted the unaired episodes of the series DAYBREAK. Watch them now while you can. This is a great show. It succumbed to the same thing that FIREFLY did. It required a bit too much from the viewer. The American viewing audience was not ready for it.
